So there's this new group blog, Truthdig, that has its own editor-in-chief. This person is Robert Scheer, who describes his blog as anti-blog. The Internet is a "food fight" that needs him to bring order and trust. He says his job is "turning strong writers to dig leaders, but controlling the direction of the digs."
As if there weren't enough ego in the blogosphere already?
I'm all for group blogs, edited blogs, editors-in-chief, and control -- it's a free country, people can do what they want. But to take a dig at other blogs while you blog? That's just bad taste. Shame on you, Scheer. Thirty years of journalism didn't teach you much about respect.
